Once again...this has been the best day in my whole life!!!!!!

I am no longer a virgin in the poetry world! Have lost it many other times in many different ways, but this was a first for me, and the rest is a whole nother blog.

I went to a poetry reading tonight at our local library and was completely surprised. I didn't know what to expect but it was not what I found. I guess, I am ashamed to admit, that I expected to see a bunch of beret wearing wierdos all dressed in black....not to mention the big giant words that I was ready to not understand. What I got instead was two full hours of smiles and laughter and beautifully written works that depicted life in a new light. AND I got to be the cream in the middle of my K&K sandwich!!!!! HOORAY for me! I am a "WORD WARRIOR"!

I met the girls at a snazzy little creepy corner in town and had a nice little dinner in one of the two non-smoking tables in the place. Nothing like hot cheese sticks and potato skins washed down with a boat-load of iced tea to make a mama feel special. Then to have not one but two sets of admiring eyes staring back at me.......was simply delightful. Thanks Tim and Gene for making this night happen for me!!! Special thanks to Gene for dealing with not only his own kids but someone else's as well so that Jazzy Kym could be a part of my night.

It's so fun to dress up! We all looked so hot! YEA!

And the waitress even asked if we liked nascar (YIKES!) because the beer man had left this little cardboard box that I think is a table tent thing that is official nascar........and guess who??? Well, it was the #8!! The Bud man, Dale Jr. Sorry Kel, they didn't have the blue guy...I forget his name.....but yes, in this state of wife-and-mama-but-free-for-the-evening-out-with-the-girls-place I was in I remembered to grab it for you Jim. It will go nicely on your "side" of the bar.

After dinner we piled into a car and went to the library. Reluctantly, cause I was into the make out on the playground idea, we went in. And to my delight the poetry was fantastic. I understood. I laughed almost to the point of snorting. I am thrilled with my new inspiration and admiration of poetry. I am feeling so cultured and artsy that I can hardly stand my own self....and you all know how much I love me already!!!!

Hummus, brie, knitting, now poetry???????? What would I have done without you guys???
