...i am a survivor......

We had a snake in our house last night. The kids were on their way to bed and I saw what my mind thought was a worm and at the same time my brain was screaming....THATISNOTAWORMTHATISNOTAWORMTHATISNOTAWORM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was about twice as long as a worm, so it was a baby, but still.....in my house??!!

Mike thankfully was here and took care of it, putting it back in the woods where it belongs. We had sex for the third consecutive day! This has not happened since we had kids...seriously. Hooray!!

Mel is coming down today thank goodness to kick my ass into gear and helping me move back out. We are refinishing floors this weekend and I have to move all the little stuff out of three rooms. My job is to get everything out so that my dad and Mike can move all the big stuff on Saturday morning. I'm having trouble getting started. The thought of cleaning out from under the couch is horrifying in itself. Am happy to have some back up.

Wish me luck! And no more snakes!

my weekend review

Well, I survived the weekend. Had to wear an old outfit, but the tan was in place as was the hair.....not to bad if I must say so myself. Now, finally, I can speak of the party. You see, my friend Kelly reads this blog so I couldn't say anything to ruin the surprise. Only I could blab my big mouth and manage to screw up something so special. The 10th anniversary party was great. Jim worked his ass off and it showed. I really find myself struggling with jealousy on this one because he is such a romantic. Mike of course is not. But I knew that going in.....

I did 15 hair do's at my parent's house this weekend. I sweated my ass off as they don't run the a/c. I am exhausted. I did get to see my friend, Steph, after the party. She lives close and was my roommate through school. Love her, miss her. She's one of my few people who knows everything there is to know and likes me anyway....

I came home to a beautifully mowed lawn, a relatively clean house, and a very sweet husband. He took good care of Johnson, whose blood glucose was a clean 285 when I got home. Great Job, Mike! Mike came home early from work today and fixed my washer. Apparently it broke when he did a load of whites over the weekend. Nothing major, a $6 set of agitator dogs. Score 1 for the Hileman family.

Started babysitting this morning. Went to VBS where Preston goes to school. Kids had a great time. After the pool was set up this afternoon things went much smoother. And to my delight their daddy came after them at 5 instead of 7. YEA! I will have them all week and Marcus on Wed. and Thurs. Tomorrow I have some hair to do around noon. Hoping to get the badminton set up. It will be busy here.

Today I also found out that I won't be able to go to book group. Was a total bitch to Mel about it....which I have apologized for and will again now....sorry Mel.....I feel like a schmuck. No one's fault but my own that my life is nutso this week. Totally disappointed because I LOVED this book.

Started my period a couple of days early....now I know you'll sleep better knowing that.....but I am thinking that each month or at least every other month my nerves are totally shot for those few days prior and the first few. I hate feeling all weepy and sorry for myself. It totally throws Mike for a loop as well. Am trying to work on that.

Now I'm gonna go lay on the couch and read. And eat. Probably double stuffed oreo's.....mmmm now that's a food to sooth the soul.

aaaawwww......tanning.....

I love to tan. Whether it is basking in the rays in the yard or in the tanning beds makes no difference. The warm bright light makes me so incredibly happy. I started tanning last week for the first time in 2 years. Now, I've always been a regular tanner, but only in the spring. I like to get just enough color that then I can maintain a nice golden hue throughout the summer. I was positively giddy that first visit. My toes were wiggling and I was grinning like the cheshire cat....in the bed, stark naked, with my goggles on. When the girl was showing me around this place I punched her in the arm when I saw that each bed has a facial tanner........beautiful. They also have a cappucino/smoothie bar. There is nothing not to like about this place.

I am one happy girl when my bare ass hits that bed. With the fan strategically placed by my head so I stay as cool as possible (I've always had problems with to much heat in my nose....whole other blog), I pull up my cheeks to diminish the white moons under the buttocks. I lift my chin so as to not have white lines on my neck. I place my arms out a little from my body so the rays can hit my sides....and I bake. For 20 bliss-filled minutes I am alone with my own thoughts, the music playing in the background, the fan blowing on my face, all I'm missing is some sand and some water....I just sailed away.....

Now, the 20 minutes is not all total relaxation, at least not the way you might think. I watch the timer so that I can flip over on my stomach at the half way point. You get much more even results when you rotate. Now, when I was younger and thinner this part wasn't as critical. But now it is a crucial part of my tanning regimine. I keep track of which side I start on and always flip and every couple or three times I will lay up on my side for the last 10 also alternating sides so as to help eliminate any striping. From outside the bed I would resemble a rottiserie chicken, dripping sweat instead of grease, going round, and round, and round.

There is no better feeling than wallowing in your own sweat puddle with the distinct smell of hot skin all around. Pure, sweet, bliss......aaawwww
